Syntax: equipment
        inventory

EQUIPMENT lists your equipment (armor, weapons, and held items).
INVENTORY lists your inventory.

Up until level 20, a first tier can wear any equipment level 20 and
under. Up till level 25, a second tier can wear any equipment level 25
and under. After these specified levels, eq is level based.

Equipment is items that you wear to protect you or to help you fight. There are several 'wear' slots for equipment. Let's take mine for instance:

As you can see, I have items on all of my available wear locations (wlocs). Fighters can also have a secondary weapon and characters who are dopples can 'grow arms' and wear up to four weapons.

When you create your first character, you are given free equipment. Type 'inventory' (you can also just type 'i'). You will see:

<100hp 100m 100mv> i

     A Faded Sack

These are both items to wear and some food and drink to get you started. The quickest way to wear everything is to type 'wear all'. You will need to choose your weapon. If, in creation, you chose dagger as your skill, type 'wear dagger', and that will remove the wrong weapon and equip you with the correct one.

These items will give you extra hitpoints too. You will notice at the next tick (HINTs let you know that a tick has happened), that your hitpoints have moved to 600 instead of the starting 100 hps.

Equipment can also have special effects. Let's take one of my items again: the Belt of Dragons Teeth.

[Name] belt of dragons teeth
[Short description] Belt of Dragons Teeth
[Wear bits ] take waist
[Extra bits ] none
[Weight ] 2/ 2/ 2 (10th pounds)
[Level ] 101 [Cost ] 400000 [Condition] 100
[Pierce] 20 [Bash] 20 [Slash] 20 [Magic] 20
[ 1] affect: mods hp by 350, level 101 permanently.
[ 2] affect: mods saves by -6, level 101 permanently.
[ 3] affect: mods hit roll by 13, level 101 permanently.
[ 4] affect: mods damage roll by 13, level 101 permanently.
[ 5] affect: mods intelligence by 3, level 101 permanently.
[ 6] affect: mods mana by 300, level 101 permanently.
[ 7] affect: mods none by 0, level 101 permanently.
     Adds prism shield.

[Name] shows you the keywords, so you can type 'wear belt', 'wear dragons', or 'wear teeth' and that will equip the item on your character.

[Short Description] is what you see when you're wearing the item.

[Wear bits] mean that you can a) take the item if it's on the ground 'get belt' or 'take belt' will work, and b) that you wear it on the waist wloc.

[Extra bits] This item doesn't have extra bits, but my Orb of Mars does. It's bits are: [Extra bits ] glow magic. This means that the items glows in a dark room (can be seen in a dark room) and it is a magical item.

[Weight] is, of course, the weight of the item. Your character can only carry so much weight, and that varies per racial traits. The stronger your character, the more you can carry.

[Level] is the level that you can wear the item. If you are not high enough level, you will not be able to wear the item.

[Pierce] 20 [Bash] 20 [Slash] 20 [Magic] 20 - this is the equipment's armor class. The stronger you stack your armor class (or ac), the harder it is for you to be damaged while fighting.

[Affects]

[ 1] affect: mods hp by 350, level 101 permanently.
[ 2] affect: mods saves by -6, level 101 permanently.
[ 3] affect: mods hit roll by 13, level 101 permanently.
[ 4] affect: mods damage roll by 13, level 101 permanently.
[ 5] affect: mods intelligence by 3, level 101 permanently.
[ 6] affect: mods mana by 300, level 101 permanently.
[ 7] affect: mods none by 0, level 101 permanently.
     Adds prism shield.

These are all the additional 'perks' you get from wearing this item. So, [ 1] adds 350 to my hitpoints. [ 2] takes -6 off of my saves total (negative saves are best), etc, etc. The last effect, [ 7] adds a shield, prismatic shield, that helps give more damage to other characters or mobs while you're fighting.
